When someone starts a career at university, almost everybody asks the same question: why did you choose that? or What do you expect you’ll be doing when you finish studying? It’s obvious that the second question is more difficult to answer now that I’ve just started.

        It’s not easy for me to explain in words the main reasons for choosing english filology. I have very clear that it wasn’t by elimination although just a year ago I was thinking about studying biology. I’ve always liked biology and all that was related to nature, but taking into account that I finished the last year of high school really tired of chemistry and maths, I felt that I wouldn’t be able to bear them during four years.

         So, I made up my mind and thought about what I really wanted to study. That’s when I came with the idea of studying english filology. To tell the truth, I’ve always cosidered it as a possibility, but never as serious as now. Appart from this, there are other main reasons that made me choose this career, for example the opportunity of improving my english. But also because I want to study it’s culture and literature.

        I know that I won’t study only that, so with time I would be able to find other interests that I’ve probably never considered. That’s why I don’t go crazy thinking about what I’m going to or want to do. As things change in less than a second, I don’t want to make a whole plan which may become nothing in the future.
